TA 23's Chirstmas Class Party 2007...

Hello everyone...yesterday for breakfast ate the MARS bar I bought last sem, very long right?haha...been in the fridge for a while...haha...went to AMK in the afternoon, one of the condos for class party...met kim man and the rest at the interchange to go together...after reaching there, it was some cocktail time and then played some cards games which was old maid...later we had musical chairs, which me and Horace were the first two to lose so the forfeit was to write Merry Chirstmas with our butts...and it was video-ed...haha...which was so embarassing...haha...then after that...played somemore don't know what games, forget liao...then it was dinner...there was bee hoon, cuttlefish balls, cereal prawns, sweet and sour pork, chicken cutlets, vegetables, etc...and for desert was honeydew sago...it was really good...after dinner was the gift exchange and I got Hong Yi's gift which was a water dispenser...I love it loads...always wanted to buy but keep hesitating on whether where to put...haha...but I will still find some place to put...haha...then after that played police and thief...shu wen kept saying I'm a bad police...but its hard to catch lor, if you miss it of course cannot catch...the thieves don't need to do anything except blink at people and wait to be caught...and the victims are waited to be killed...the police is the worst lor...of course hard to do...ok anyway...then after that we had the a lucky draw and I was the 9th prize winner...which was some lemon incense...which I quite like...actually to tell u the truth, this year's chirstmas isn't a bad one at all...all the present I receive I like it a lot...for example, the gift exchange, lucky draw and presents from my CIP group...love them loads...haha...thanks guys...anyway the party was a blast...wouldn't mind doing it again...haha...took 74 and when it was my house, there was no one on the 2nd floor already...haha...anyway bathe and open my presents and went to sleep...

Woke up at 12 today...which means I slept for 12 hours...cause I slept about 12 last night...I'm like a pig lar...cause I slept at 1 the previous night and woke up at 4...so thats explains it right?haha...anyway then ate and used the computer and slept on-off till 5pm...haha...anyway then went to bugis to pray and ate steamboat at golden mile and had desert at bugis...haha...gonna be a real pig soon man...haha...went to cold storage to buy some stuffs and went home...I guess that's about all for my 2 days of activities...soon going to be 2008, hope all of you set your resolutions...hope they all come true...ok gtg now...see ya...take care peeps... =)

HAPPY BOXING DAY!!! and belated Merry Chirstmas and a happy 2008...

Yoyo...suppose to blog yesterday but was too busy as was painting my room...so sick of the old colour which was painted when I moved here...haha...it was not white, also not like blue or green...on Sunday went to the temple and ran some errands...it was damn hot so ate some cold deserts at Bugis, it was damn good man...haha...then after that in the night went for dinner at Alexander Village...and went home...

On monday woke up at 4am and then slept again at 7am and woke up at 9am...bathe and met pei jiao to do some Chirstmas shopping at Orchard...reach there at 11am, and guess what it was already jam...I was like that like early...haha...went to taka first but couldn't find anything only pj did...so I suggest going to Hereen to shop, found something...I think I irritated pj like big time cause I kept being indecisive on whether should I buy a lamp for my room...in the end I bought it...haha...and found shu wen and darui's presents there...and after that we left to john little cause pei jiao needed to buy some things from there...and which then I forget to buy her present...so I said go back to hereen...haha...again irritated her...haha...ask her to stand outside the shop while I bought it but she also needed to buy things from there so she went in...she also refused to tell me what she like, so chose a earrings and when she wasn't looking, I quickly paid and gave her at lunch after the removal of the price tag...haha...damn scared she don't like lar..she gave me something I really like...so I feel bad...cause if someone give you something and you don't like and you gave the person a present too...and you won't get worried right?haha...anyway then went to Cine for lunch at a HK restuarant, was my first time there...haha...the food was not bad, pj kept giving me food until I feel so bad..tired giving her but she don't want...haha...anyway we ate uite slow cause, I need to leave quite late, scared nothing to do...after we ate walked a while in paragon and then took 14 back...and later went to second aunt house for the Chirtmas party...it was qutie fun...ate a lot and talked a lot...my cousins were all playing Wii...was too tired to play, so sat out...haha...and later had log cake for desert...mmm...it really good...it mocha flavour cream and chocolate inside...haha...then about 1 plus went home...

Yesterday finish painting my room with the help of my sisters and mum...haha...damn tired now...in the midst of painting my mum room...better go now...haha...o ya must also go do MYOB asap...don't want to lose 10% of my grade...haha...gtg now...see ya...take care folks... =)

Winter Solstice Festival / Dong Zhi...

Hi everyone...today was is the annual Winter Solstice Festival, or otherwise called Dong Zhi...today didn't do much just stayed at home and for the first time went to the NTUC below my block...it quite nice...haha...anyway in the night went to grandma's house for dinner...Ok lets start on the origins of it...

Origins:
In the south of ancient China there was once a majestic palace that was in construction. One day, the emperor came to the site for an inspection. He was very satisfied with the progress of the palace as even every little detail was also taken care of. He commented that the person-in-charge seems the most outstanding, thus he conferred upon him the title of Master.This time as the artisans (eg. carpenters, tinsmiths, painters, etc.) felt it was unfair and tired to convince the emperor that they should be made a master so the emperor reached a conclusion and made everyone a master.

By this time, word had reach the kitchen about the conferring of titles. The head of the kitchen felt that if it weren't for their food, the artisans would not accomplish anything. So she went to the emperor and request for a title too. When the artisans heard of her request, they laughed and mocked at her, as they considered cooking not a skill cause if the cooks were also conferred a title, the title won't be worth much. After hearing that the kitchen head stomped away in anger back to the kitchen, she instructed her helper to stop cooking and left the kitchen.

When the lunch bell rang, the artisans proceeded to the lunch hall to their surprised they saw nothing on the tables except empty ricebowls and chopsticks. The kitchen head told the artisans that if cooking weren't considered a skill, they should cook for themselves. They went to the kitchen to search for any food but all they could find was only a bucket of uncooked grains. They pondered for a while on how to cook the grains but they could not think of any ways to cook the grains. They reported this matter to the emperor, which puzzled him for a moment. He told the artisans off, there are so many skilled people around and yet when it comes to a bucket of uncooked rice everyone are clueless. After a united decision, everyone agree that cooking was consider a skill. All this while the kitchen head and her helper were at the side watching the commotion and came forward to receive their titles. The kitchen head suggested that they should be ranked higher than the rest as when there are hundreds of masters here yet none could prepare food. The emperor agree and conferred upon the kitchen head as great master and her helper as second-ranking master. The following day happened to be Dong Zhi(Winter Solstice Festival), so as to celebrate her title and the festival, she promise everyone that there will be glutinous rice balls, won ton, dumplings and red bean porridge for lunch the next day. From then on, that became the staple food of people in the south on Dong Zhi and slowly the tradition of eating tang yuan on Dong Zhi spread to the rest of China.

Traditions:
There is a saying that "Dong Da Guo Nian", Which means that the winter solstice festival is more important than the lunar new year. This saying is actually said by the Cantonese so that's why the Cantonese celebrate this festival almost like the lunar new year, which the feast is sumptuous In the night, there will be a reunion dinner and all family members would come together to have a meal, even if they are overseas. Another tradition is also to consume glutinous rice balls called tang yuan, which signify families would be united and will stay together through thick or thin. This festival happens on every 15th of the 12th lunar month.

The salty version: Glutinous rice balls in a clear broth topped with meat, cabbage and chopped spring onion, with a pinch of pepper...


The sweet version: Glutinous rice balls in a ginger-pandan flavoured soup...I prefer this one...haha...

December Holidays are Here!

Hello everyone…sorry for the disappearance…internet has not been working for the whole week, I think I am about to go mad…let me tell you a secret “THE HOLIDAYS HAVE OFFICAILLY STARTED”…ok maybe not much of a secret but really happy waited for really long for this hols to come, also partly because Chirstmas and New Year is coming…makes me really excited…anyway let me slowly take you through the week…so if I forget anything, please pardon me…ok, on Monday was MIEC common test…it was ok, first time had a test in the convention centre…but don’t even know what I am doing lar…got don’t know calculate explicit and implicit costs and stuffs…haha…anyway then nothing much after that…on Tuesday was FFA…at first was damn blurr…the bank reconciliation keep can’t balance man but at last can balance…haha…but manage to finish, luckily there is one part for theory…cause didn’t really bother to remember what is all the concepts and stuffs…haha…

On Wednesday was BSTA…surprisingly it was a open-book test! First time man, a common test in poly is actually open book…but so far the tests are ok…haha…the BSTA invigilator cum our lecturer was damn funny lar, before all the papers were given out he say get already can start and the normal sequence is before the tests, the invigilator will read the exam regulations but when we start then he read it…haha…damn funny…and keeps reminding us that our next test is on 7th Jan…was thinking “this test not yet even finish, already remind us the next one”…haha…then before they count finish people start leaving already and when we decided to stand up and leave, he say can go…haha…

Lastly, it was CIP, held in the sports hall…it was so lame man…there were loads to remember so for some chapters just read through…so for BSTA and CIP shu wen sat in front of me, said I could kick her chair if she sleeps…haha…that girl, damn funny…haha…but of course I didn’t need to do that cause she didn’t sleep…haha…when we receive the paper we quickly flip through the paper to check out the questions and the last part, short-essay question me and shu wen is like wtf…haha…don’t even know what is happen…haha…so she ask me if I know how to do before the paper officially start and I was like I have no idea…haha…then before the test ended I think about 1/3 people left…cause they have finish also got nothing to do one…so must why finish faster and go…then went for MIEC make-up tutorial so on 31 Dec don’t have to come back for tutorial…haha…so good…after that mrs ng treated us pizza hut at bukit timah plaza but I couldn’t go cause was meeting pei jie and wendy to catch a movie…wanted to go through…haha…

Anyway met wendy at clement before boarding the train to meet pei jie at Outram…so I thought we were meeting pei jie at City Hall so when we reach outram…ok this was our conversation when the train arrive at outram…

Wendy: What stop is this ar?
Me: Outram…
Wendy: Then we suppose to get down.
Me: No lar, not yet reach.
Wendy: Oh, so one more stop?
Me: No we are suppose to down at City Hall right?
Wendy: No! We suppose to drop at Outram!

This time we look at each other and started to panic as we made our way out hastily, just when I hopped of the train the door close behind me after like 1.5 sec…and Wendy was a still a bit shocked after that…haha…so kids, don’t try this at home, or rather at any train station…haha…wanted to scared pei jie but she saw our reflections…boarded the next train and reached City hall and walked to Marina…saw the timing for “Enchanted” and we were just in time to make it for the 1.55pm one…so we had no choice but to take the 1st row which made our necks really tired…haha…then pei jie very funny man…when we paid the money she ask us to go already…when I about to take a step at the same time asked myself whether we took the tickets...then pei jie say aaa…we not yet take the tickets then the counter lady laugh also…perhaps we were to be late and a bit kan chiong…cause the lady in front of us take so long man…so when we reached the door no one there to tear our tickets so we went in ourselves…then halfway we got stopped then the guy tore our tickets and we went in…the last song was nice man…sung by Carrie Underwood…just love her voice…haha…then went to Sakae to eat our lunch cum dinner…which we had a competition the one who eat the littlest will get 10 plates of those 6 pieces sushi…haha…cause it was a buffet…haha…anyway in the end we had it called off cause my plates were clear away so I had to pull someone down with me so I give the CSA wendy’s plates too…I damn bad right?haha…so in the end we ate about 30 plates excluding some noodles…haha…after eating, took the train home…we were separated cause there were too many people on the train…haha…then took some pics with wendy despite the number of people and the movement…haha…then took 166 from clementi central…

On Saturday, in the night went to IKEA to look for an armchair for a room and a table for my room…the armchair I wanted was sold out…so had to wait but bought a table first…haha…so happy…before IKEA went to anchorpoint to look around now its like so much better, loads of factory outlets and had some deserts at the basement…I had egg custard with ginger, my sis mango desert with pomelo and my mum black sesame paste…love that place loads after the renovations, I think I didn’t go there for so soooo long…perhaps will be my new hangout place on weekends…haha…anyway gtg now…see ya…take care folks… =)

Been Busy and Tomorrow's Common Test...

Hi everyone...pardon me for my absence...for yesterday and friday, internet was down so couldn't blog or what so ever...haha...and pass few days was too tired to even on my lappy...anyway let me start from wednesday, cause tuesday was a bore...wednesday was CATS presentation...I saw the rest of the groups was very good lar...and ours was like err...so stupid then my teacher was like very good...haha...I wanted to laugh, actually we were the last group but someone in the first group forget to bring adapter so we went first...and I must say luckily we were went first or else our confidence will be crushed...cause there was things like high-tech fridge, emotional sensor MP3 and stuff...so it was like our like nothing special lar...anyway then after everything our teacher say we all put a lot of effort...haha...then on thursday he gave us an email evaluating our presentation...haha...couldn't stand some people lar...as our group was presenting they were talking the whole way through and some can see don't know the basic of presenting, when another group member is talking then suddenly they will butt into them and start talking...it like damn rude lar...luckily my group wasn't like that...but I am not saying my presenting skills are superb but one should at least know basic courtesy...anyway then it was S&W, was raining(same as last week)...so had to run around the hall for 6 rounds or something...then did stretches and later had to do our compass reading and exchange with a friend...I exchange with this girl celest...I don't know what's wrong with her leh...there is 3 objects we need to find..so only worte one...when I asked her for the last 2 at first she ignore me lar...and when I ask her again...she say "I think is a highlighter"...it like WTH!!!3 simple things that belongs to you, you also can don't know/forget...very hard meh...then also never say what colour, so by mistake I took hasanah one...mine is a highlighter, red pen and liquid paper...OMG!!!can't stand her man...and after MJ wishes us merry chirstmas and happy new year then we left...haha...

On thursday nothing much happen, just that for BSTA it was my tutor lecturing, mrs tan...and for CIP learn how to use dreamweaver...and for BCOMM had that stupid 20% email writing, which I was the second last to leave cause I re-wrote 3/4 of the thing which is like damn stupid of me...cause at the beginning I didn't really know what was happening and I anyhow write so in the end loads of correction tape on my script...haha...so wrote a new one...haha...ask pei jiao to leave first, but after leaving the class I realise she was waiting for me outside...so nice hor...so sorry...

And on friday, had MIEC and BSTA which which I couldn't concentrate cause was damn tired...and for lunch had yong tau foo at canteen 1 and after that went to study at the library...at 4pm, went for MIEC revision class...and later went to airport to fetch my elder sis from europe...kind of pms-ing...haha...cause was really tired...for dinner ate jap food at katong...it was really good...haha...had some Hokkaido crabs cause the manager said it was in season and her service was good...haha...had a litle sake and my udon was damn good...cold and springy...don't mind eating it again...haha...and for desert had green tea ice cream, flourballs and red bean paste...haha...then went home...and my sis bought for us loads of sweets and from Changi airport she bought for me baileys, the new christmas version...can't wait to drink it...haha...yesterday didn't go out cause was studying BSTA and MIEC...haha...don't think will be going out tonight either...anyway gtg now...tomorrow is the start of my common test...haha...and tomorrow is MIEC paper...gtg now...wish me luck...haha...see ya...take care folks...ahdiyos... =)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELLE!!! may all your wishes come true...

Yoyo...back to blog...today damn tired want to sleep man...last night slept quite late...played my PSP before sleeping...haha...anyway yesterday didn't do much except went for brunch cum high tea and had dim sum at chinatown point...haha...very not bad or perhaps was slightly too hungry...haha...after that had some pomelo and mango desert...you can alter it milkly-ness yourself...and of course I love mine the very very milky...but I tasted the milk alone, it tasted like 10 days old...haha...ok lar, wasn't that bad but it taste weird...haha...after the desert I was DAMN full man...haha...then for dinner had spaghetti at about 8 plus...and that's about yesterday...haha...o btw in the restaurant I saw this old lady sitting alone and eating...she had the empress dowager aura man...I feel it is one's of life enjoyment..having dim sum and drinking tea to clear away the oiliness and no caring a thing about your woes...ah...just great...haha...but the server all the faces all look so black...don't even know why...actually that's good to a certain extent so if your attitude sucks, no one can report you or something...but of course not to the extreme...haha..and if you are the one being served then it gonna be a BAD experience...haha...

Ok about today, woke up quite early...to meet before the micro discovery and share...in the end, I thought what I know what I am talking about, I was...pai sae sia! I say the curve at the beginning is increasing at an increasing rate and I saw mrs ng nod her head so I thought it was correct but in the end is wrong...it was the opposite...at the beginning is increasing at an decreasing rate and after that then is increasing at an increasing rate...so pai sae man...haha...but I guess I most probably not commit that mistake again cause I was embarrassed and remember the stupid mistake I made...haha...and that mrs ng want us to do again like edit again...have to do it again during the hols...and interview the people again...wth...so stupod lor...liek we so free like that...anyway then was CIP had to do some lecture summary crap but not like bmgt...I am like ok...and have to present, miss chew say help us revise...ok...anyway then it was BCOMM after an 2-hour break...I want to die liao man...this coming thursday got a test or something...it's like, we got nothing better to do and also don't need to revise...and that stupid thing weightage is 20%...argh!!!I tihnk I can't take it anymore...haiz...so many things to do lor...CIP summary, BCOMM test, do tutorials and revise for 4 tests...so sucky man...anyway gtg now...got to so FFA tutorial, later that mrs chan cbcb me...see ya...take care...ciao... =)
