Monday, March 24, 2008  7:35 AM

Hey peeps...back to update my blog...haha...great to see you again after slightly more than a week...haha...going to Japan is really an eye-opener...the culture is quite different...everyone there is like really nice...ok anyway after this entry I am going write what is interesting...haha...

Day 1: 15 March 2008

Left the house at about 7.30pm to the airport, Terminal 3...it was really big man...anyway also there was like million of people man...then had dinner at the food court...which was so hard to find a seat...after finding a seat, I ordered some thai stir-fried noodles...and went into the departure gates after that...walked around but there didn't seems to be things for me to walk...so after walking up and down once I decided sit down...and after that boarded the plane about 11pm...the take off was very good...it wasn't bumpy, very smooth...anyway then for had some light snack of some chicken wrapped in panini bread...it was like weird, didn't taste very nice...haha...anyway after resting for a while and watching a movie(forgot the title liao)...haha...they served breakfast...it was salted salmon with rice and steamed vegetables...and let me tell you the salmon was really SALTED, if you get what I mean...haha...then after that at 7.11am, the next day...we reached Narita Airport...

Bored!!!haha...

Day 2: 16 March 2008

Ok after going through the customs, we went to collect our luggage...the customs were very interesting cause first you had to press your fingers down onto a machine and then you get your picture taken and everything is done...interesting huh?haha...then went to buy a ticket to take a train to our hotel in Ikebukuro...had to change to another train after the one and a half hour ride...we changed train and took it to Ikebukuro station...after dragging our luggage to the hotel we took a train to Asakusa temple, the infamous temple where prayers are answered...bought and ate loads of things there...had these pancakes in a shape of ducklings and lanterns...it was somemore still warm...haha...anyway then after going to pray at the temple and walking around the garden...ate some ice cream wrapped in wafer...it was quite good...I chose something special which was soy bean powder flavour...haha...it was good...in the middle got some caramel swirls...Mmm...then after that we left for Euno Park to see cherry blossoms...and we were really lucky to see that some trees had already bloom...it was like damn nice lar...whole tree is pink...and after taking loads of photos we went to this street to shop but didn't buy much things cause didn't like it...but ate quite a few things...ate a huge takopochi and the normal ones and gyozas...it is damn good...and I am not kidding man...and after that we went to Toyko tower...actually wanted to go in the night but we finished everything early...didn't see much things only just bought a few souvenirs...and left, back to our hotel...on the way back we stop at a ramen shop to settle our dinner...I order a squid tempura with soba noodles...its reallly good...but a bit salty but I guess japanese food is stronger in taste...but its still good...and rested in Sakura Hotel for the night...

Today went Stujiki Fish Market, we checked how a japanese wet market was like...it was ok not too bad...not as wet and dirty as Singapore...haha...we bought some dried fruits and products from a shop...then man was very nice, he gave us a almond coated with chocolate...its very nice...it had this buttery taste which I didn't taste it before in my life...if very nice...ok after walking around for a while we bought these intestines, which we thought was yakitori...it was damn fishy lar..I tell you I couldn't swallow it for 2-3 mintues and had to hold my breath to swallow it...haha...then we went into a restuarant to had sushi...it was damn good...cause the fish is really fresh...it taste different from the ones you get in Singapore...the meat is delicate, it kind of melt in your mouth, most of all it isn't fishy...haha...then after eating we went to the eastern imperial garden...it was quite nice and relaxing there...the admission is free...then later went to Harajuku, which is like the hip place and a kind of fashion district...the people there are really fashionable, its quite interesting...there is nothing called overdress there...haha...then went to Kiddy Land where they sell all types of toys from anime to hello kitty...and lastly we went to Shibuya...which was similar to Orchard Road...just walked around there for a while...and headed back to our hotel to rest for the night and had dinner at the Ramen shop nearby...

Day 5: 19 March 2008

We took the one-day Mount Fuji tour...it was the most disappointing day of all...the reason being...it was too misty as a result you could not even see the mountain from far...its like such a waste trip lar...anyway then we took the package without lunch cause it was just grilled chicken, nothing special...I was mad lar, keep playing with the vending machine, first I bought a drink then Haagen Dazs ice cream and lastly some rice and chicken...haha...siao right?haha...then we took a pirate ship which take us over the lake and as usual couldn't see anything...and after the boat ride we took the ropeway (somewhat like a cablecar) was so misty until can't see a thing...anyway then took the Bullet train back to Toyko...so I told mum I am determine to go again...I not 'gan yuan' go there and couldn't see the mountain...then we went to Disneyland to pick some gifts that we forgotton to buy that day...and that ends our day...

The picture behind is suppose to be the exact view behind but was too misty...so there was nothing to see at all...haha...

Today we woke up later cause all the shops opened around 10...so then went to shop at this shop which sell relatively cheap clothes...then we went to walk at the 10 storey Takashimaya...yes you read it right, 10!!!haha...didn't walked much cause it wasn't my taste there...haha...but anyway we bought some food at the basement for lunch...then me and my elder sis decided to shop at Harajuku again cause we didn't have enough time that time and whatsmore our legs were killing us...so we went there to shop somemore and my second sis and mum stayed at the same place to walk around...anyway it was raining like hell but we did still walk and after that we done everything we met up at the station and went to Sanrio Puroland...where all the Sanrio characters are...suppose for kids de but we went, felt damn old man...and I had my cartoon version of myself drawn...its like damn funny can...haha...then we settle our dinner at a nearby fastfood joint, Wendy's...it was good to tell you the truth...still puzzled why they don't have it in Singapore...I think they had it last time and then now don't have liao...anyway after eating we went to the famous Rainbow bridge...it damn nice man...all the colours and litted up with the city lights and night sky as the backdrop...really nice...then we went back to the hotel to rest and started packing...

Day 7: 21 March 2008

Today was the last day in Japan and soon back to our reality life in Singapore...we walked around our hotel to look around and of course do some last mintue shopping...I bought a cap from there and we ate crepes there, its good man...mine was strawberries and cream with brownies...the cream was really solid man...I guess it can't be compared to those you get in Singapore...then we went back to the hotel and took our lugguage from there and brought it to the train station and sat all the way to Narita Airport...after checking our luguages, we went to the airport departure gates...anyway it was damn funny cause something happen to me...before you go in then they will check your bags and stuff and you will be asked to remove any metallic objects and stuff...so I forget to take my watch out too so I took out then the men ask me to remove my belt cause it was also metal and I was like oh shit my pants is going to drop cause its really loose...so I guess you can imagine the scene, me stand there trying to take our everything...haha...and fumbling on everything...haha...then before we board the plane, we still bought more things from there, more soviniers...then we boarded the plane...you see, the Japanese technology is so good until the tearing of boarding tickets don't have to be done manually...its done with a machine...and I realize that at train stations, tapping of their cards no problems seem to cropped up, unlike Singapore you get the loud and malu 'ti ti ti' sound if your card have a problem...and if you don't have enough money you just need to top up that amount at the station when exiting...interesting right? anyway we board the plane and then we took off...it was bumpy for the first 2 hours cause I think because of the strong winds there...and it is really strong until it bend my unbrella man...so sad...and when the wind blow it is really cold until you can just be preserve there for ages man...haha...
